      an expiatory temple (not a cathedral) in Barcelona, Spain, begun in 1882 and still unfinished. Antonio Gaudí took over construction of the church in 1883 and in 1891 became its official architect. The spires of the church are more than 328 feet (100 m) tall, and the church has a seating capacity of 13,000. Full name Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia (‘Expiatory Temple of the Holy Family’).
